Return of the Walking Tours?
Find Out More on Thursday, November 8th
If you joined DPPA and member Sheldon Aubut last year for his one-day
return of the famous Old Downtown Walking Tour, you'll know just how
charming these tours were. You'll be acquainted with how they brought
life to Duluth's history and to Duluth's Old Downtown district.... the
kind of life that can also mean an increase in business for downtown
merchants.
On Thursday, November 8th Sheldon is inviting anyone who is interested
to a meeting to discuss how these tours might be reinstated. Sheldon
describes the tour's past and his future vision for them:
"I had
people from every state and virtually every country in the Americas as
well as many Europeans and Asians. I would like to expand the
reenactment parts of the tours, with more people and more characters,
but the focus is history and historic preservation. Of course,
entertainment is the vehicle. These tours were very successful and I
hope they will be again."
Does anyone have ideas for how to find funding for these tours? Bring
this and other thoughts to the meeting:
Date: Thursday, November 8th
Place: Norshor Theater
Time: 6 p.m.
