Save armory from demolition Mickey Fields Public Letter to the Editor - Duluth News Tribune - Jan. 25 2001 Out with the old, in with the new. Duluth is at risk of losing what makes it one of the unique cities in the country. Its old architecture adds charm and grace. Do we really want Duluth to end up looking like two of the most unattractive cities in the country south of us? With all respect, I don't think so. Give the Duluth Armory a chance. An arts center would be much nicer than a continuation of the London Road sprawl across from the rose garden. If a group of citizens wants to spend their time and energy for this effort, I salute them. And please use my tax dollars.
